The "kiji-moku" texture—a pattern commonly found on Japanese metalware—is widely regarded as a uniquely Japanese traditional handcraft technique. However, in fact, the kiji-moku pattern originally originated from Chinese silverware processing. It was only because Japan has remarkably preserved and passed down the various traditional rules and conventions of the tea ceremony that this technique has been so well maintained and widely applied—something that we in China have unfortunately lost. This texture is particularly common on copper and silver objects, which boast excellent malleability. Each piece featuring the kiji-moku pattern requires painstaking craftsmanship: each item is meticulously hammered stroke by stroke, carefully refined inch by inch. The texture on this teapot is evenly arranged with just the right amount of force. Its lid, designed as a press-fit type, is centered and fitted with a small cherry-blossom-shaped knob. The handle is made of nubuck leather, and the spout features a gracefully curved design that ensures smooth water flow. This teapot can be used both for brewing and for serving hot beverages.
