Museum Introduction
Intangible Cultural Heritage
The Luoyang Tangyi Museum of Gold and Silver Artifacts is located at the Buddhist holy site, White Horse Temple. Established on February 1, 2012, it is Henan Province’s first privately-run, specialized museum dedicated to gold and silver artifacts—a museum founded by Mr. Wang Yaqiang, a local collector and Chairman of Luoyang Ruizhe Arts & Crafts Co., Ltd., who has spent many years assembling his collection.
Our museum is dedicated to the lawful collection, preservation, research, exhibition, and exchange of historical artifacts that bear witness to human activities. Guided by the principles of promoting and enhancing Chinese civilization, popularizing knowledge about ancient arts and culture, and enriching the spiritual and cultural lives of the people, we strive for the perfect integration of historical and artistic values. As a public service institution, our museum offers free admission to the public throughout the year. The museum grounds cover nearly 10 mu, with a total building area of 1,300 square meters. We house over 300 precious artifacts and are equipped with a business department, a security division, an office, and a finance department. Our facilities include a separate artifact exhibition area, a demonstration zone for craft processes, a technical zone for cultural relic preservation, storage rooms, and office spaces. We have a team of highly qualified professional researchers and specialized restoration and conservation technicians. All functional areas are fully equipped and arranged in a rational manner. With distinct layers of organization, an immersive atmosphere, and excellent artistic presentation, our museum is the ideal place for people to learn about and appreciate a wide variety of gold and silver artifacts.
Each product has its own unique character: some are designed as tea-making vessels for health and wellness, others as artistic treasures for appreciation, some serve as exquisite gifts to bestow upon others, and still others are rare and precious collectibles. They boast elegant forms, lustrous colors and hues, and possess an extraordinary value all their own.
Luoyang boasts a long history and abundant cultural heritage. Museum Director Wang Yaqiang says that hosting this museum allows these ancient gold and silver artifacts to be beautifully preserved in the ancient capital, Luoyang. By opening its doors to the public, the museum can showcase the 5,000-year-old civilization of the Chinese nation, highlighting the daily life, customs, attire, thoughts, and aspirations of ancient working people. At the same time, it enables us to gain a more direct appreciation of the exquisite craftsmanship of antiquity and to experience the unique artistic vision and wisdom of our ancestors.
