A lifelike, exquisitely crafted dragon-shaped spout for teapots.

During the Western Zhou Dynasty in China, many bronze artifacts featured distinctive totemic motifs carved onto their bodies and fittings, giving rise to a unique stylistic flair. Among the nine sons of the dragon, one is known as the Taotie—a creature embodying both majesty and ferocity. This piece is crafted entirely from sterling silver. The lid is adorned with head-patterned and hammered textures, and features a single-loop silver button riveted at its center. The body of the pot is encircled by a band of animal motifs and hammered patterns. The spout, shaped like a dragon-headed beast with a double-curved mouth, is perfectly designed for slow, gentle tea infusion. Behind the spout, there’s a single, unobstructed hole—no mesh screen required. The solid, door-shaped handle is seamlessly connected to the pot’s handle, with an added segment of sandalwood insulation at the junction. With a capacity of 1000 milliliters, this pot can yield approximately twenty cups of tea, making it ideal for sharing and enjoying tea with a group.
