The teapot body is crafted from a single piece of silver, featuring a balanced and full-bodied design. Its large hammer-pattern texture delivers a striking visual impact. Water flows gracefully from the double-curved spout, while the lid naturally conforms to the shape of the pot’s body, subtly conveying the beauty of time’s imperfection and fleeting nature.

The hammer-mark pattern originated in the Tang Dynasty from the repoussé techniques used in Chinese gold and silver artifacts and Buddhist sculptures. Initially, this pattern was developed specifically for processing Chinese silverware. However, thanks to Japan’s remarkably well-preserved traditional tea ceremony rituals and regulations, the hammer-mark technique was superbly passed down and widely adopted—precisely what has been lacking in China. After being introduced to Japan, the technique evolved into the “hammer-pattern” craft, which has since been refined and further developed. Today, each hammer-mark pattern boasts its own unique character. Underneath the large hammer marks, smaller ones subtly accentuate the overall design, lending it an air of grandeur. The teapot features a generally smooth, rounded body with a press-on lid. At the center of the lid sits a delicately crafted, wire-woven, gourd-shaped handle, elegantly set within an enameled border. The spout is curved in three distinct bends, and the teapot is adorned with a distinctive bow-shaped iron handle inlaid with gold—a truly remarkable feature.
