This vessel features a round, spherical body with a hemispherical knob adorned with chrysanthemum petal motifs. The body is embellished with ginkgo leaf designs and is entirely handcrafted. The body was created using the hammering technique, which is considerably more challenging than conventional methods. It is a small yet exquisitely detailed piece.
The ginkgo tree is revered as a sacred tree in Buddhism. It stands serene and slender, unflinching through millennia of change—so tranquil and light-hearted that countless stories are quietly entrusted to its golden leaves in the depths of autumn. Particularly well-suited to tea ceremonies, we’ve incorporated ginkgo leaves as an element into our tea ware.
