The teapot’s design is both elegant and concise, with lines that are free and unencumbered by trivial details. The texture of the large hammer marks flows smoothly and naturally, devoid of any artificiality or affectation. With each strike of the hammer, the teapot takes on a myriad of ever-changing styles, instantly imbuing its body with dynamic rhythm. Though the crafting style appears effortless and spontaneous, it is in fact meticulously planned and carefully arranged—every aspect reflecting the tea utensil master’s profound artistic cultivation and unique insights.

The hammer-texture pattern—originally developed in China for silverware—possesses a traditional elegance imbued with the interplay of light and shadow characteristic of its time. Thanks to Japan’s exceptionally well-preserved traditional regulations, this technique has been remarkably preserved and widely applied. It is the most common texture found on Japanese metalware, and many consider it one of Japan’s uniquely traditional crafts. This pattern is particularly prevalent on copper and silver objects known for their excellent malleability—a quality that our own country often lacks. The hammer-texture technique also represents the ultimate test of a craftsman’s skill: there are no formulas or tools involved; instead, it’s painstakingly crafted by hand, stroke by stroke, over years of practice. The entire teapot is made of pure silver, with a smooth, pressed-lid closure featuring a centrally riveted “wrapped-chrysanthemum” knob. Below the knob, chrysanthemum petals form the handle. The teapot’s body is encircled throughout by an oval-shaped, large hammer-texture pattern. Its spout is a double-curved design, ideal for slow, gentle tea infusion. On the back of the spout, a spherical filter mesh can be used both for brewing and as a strainer. The handle is made of sandalwood, offering a distinctive heat-insulating feature. The bottom of the teapot features a sand-textured hammered finish, which not only reduces wear but also adds an elegant aesthetic touch. With a capacity of 300 ml, this teapot yields approximately six cups of tea, making it perfect for intimate gatherings of one or two friends to enjoy tea together.
