This vessel features square windows on its body, giving it a distinctive shape. Its square-shaped knob complements the body’s form beautifully. The handle, crafted in a wicker-like style, further enhances its antique charm.

The concept of "heaven round, earth square" is a manifestation of the Yin-Yang philosophy. According to traditional Chinese thought, "heaven round" emphasizes strictness and order in one's character and conduct. This philosophical mindset is profoundly reflected in traditional Chinese handicrafts as well. As early as recorded in "The Elegance of Silver Teapots," silver teapots already featured square-shaped vessels. Among square vessels, those with curved edges—alternating between yin and yang—exhibit symmetrical forms, giving rise to yet another variation of the square teapot. For instance, crafting such pieces from ceramic or clay materials is already quite challenging; making them from precious metals like heavy metals presents an even greater difficulty. The first challenge lies in handling the foot rim; the second, in controlling the thickness of the teapot body; the third, in shaping the teapot spout and lid—the most intricate part; and the fourth, in achieving the perfect balance between square and round elements. Entirely made of pure silver, this teapot features a smooth, pressed-lid closure with a centrally riveted "round-within-square handle." Its square body boasts curved corners, adding to the complexity of its design. The teapot’s three-bend spout is ideal for brewing tea varieties that require low-temperature, slow infusion. The spout is equipped with a single, unfiltered hole at its base, while the handle is designed in a door-like shape and adorned with woven rattan, providing both aesthetic appeal and thermal insulation. With a capacity of 1050 ml, it can yield approximately twenty-one cups of tea, making it perfect for gatherings and shared tea-drinking sessions.
